In relation to the 25th anniversary of the papal visit to Poland in 1987, this year the Museum of John Paul II and Primate Wyszyński invites to the international academic conference “Gate to Freedom”, dedicated to the third pilgrimage of John Paul II to the Poland in 1987.
The conference is taking place on 25 May 2012 from 10.00 to 16.30 at the House of Archbishops of Warsaw, in Warsaw, Miodowa St. 17/19. Among speakers will perform: Prof. Gonzalo Larios Mengotti of Chile, Fr. Dr. Wojciech Bartkowicz, Andrzej Grajewski, prof. Jan Żaryn, Father Dr. Tomasz Szyszka, Dr. Paweł Skibinski, editor Grzegorz Polak, ed. Paweł Zuchniewicz. This session will include an opportunity to listen to the extraordinary stories about the most beautiful of the papal altars used during the Mass celebrated by the Pope in Gdańsk Zaspa. Apart to that, there will be the presentation of the unique sketches of altar designer – Mr. Marian Kolodziej. The conference will be interspersed with short spots regarding the film realized by the Museum about the 3rd pilgrimage.
The honorary patronage over the conference took HE Card. Kazimierz Nycz- Metropolitan of Warsaw and Min. Piotr Żuchowski – Secretary of State in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The conference provides coffe breaks between the panels.
